Physicists simulated a black hole in the lab. Here's the actual paper. I was imagining scientists with safety goggles on peering through the window of a lab containing a swirling mass of plasma surrounding a black blob, but this was all a computer simulation, so just graphs and equations. Nothing to see here.
Well just as predicted, Portland's Ritz-Carlton has been vandalized.
