Weird. Ths term means something different now. Weird when I was growing up is different from today's weird. It was more benign and fairly harmless. Today's weird is pathological.

Stupid. Read this about how a West Hills resident couldn't get a permit to have a tree chopped down, only to have it fall down during the ice storm. Because the City of Portland couldn't be bothered to issue the permit. Then the Oregonian says that we need to build a culture of resilience. How about a culture of competence???
