Someone wanted to know what happened to the plastic straw ban. Apparently it just got changed into a more compostable plastic, made of polylactic acid (PLA).  But are those straws really biodegradable? Only under certain "extremely rare" conditions where there are enzymes that can break it down. Otherwise, they aren't really very more green than regular plastic straws.

It is not up to the rich to decide how much they should pay in taxes’. This is Obama thinking, right there. Remember the "If you got a business, you didn't build that" argument? Rich talk from a guy who really didn't build anything himself, but took a lot of credit. The rich got rich mostly because they built something that others wanted, especially what other people with disposable income wanted. Or needed. Someone needs to acquaint Mr. Zucman with the parable of the 10 men in the bar. It helps when you break it down simple.

Avoiding the obvious answer. Why is it so hard to find a job right now despite low unemployment?  Maybe the better question is "How are so many people so unqualified to take a position in our company?" Schools were supposed to help kids become productive members of society. But instead, schools have taught them how to complain. How be dissatisfied with everything. How to be an activist and bring about change. To just make everything equal – for them, so that they feel good about themselves.
And Massachusetts is cutting college degree requirements for 90% of jobs to 'reduce structural barriers that result in inequities in pay and access to employment. Like former Gov Kate Brown, dumbing down requirements to graduate high school because actually learning stuff was a "harmful hurdle for historically marginalized students".

Is this the world's best cancer doctor?  This guy claims to have a 46.3% complete response rate. The Daily Mail claims that he's published his findings in the prestigious "American Society of Clinical Oncology Journal". (Actually the it's the Journal of Clinical Oncology). Naturally I had to check it out. All  that I can see that he's published is an ASCO abstract, and you can get anything published there – it's not peer-reviewed. I can't find any peer-reviewed article published reporting on his treatments. I would like to know how he selects for his treatments, and what the treatment schedules are. How is the clinical trial designed.  But the most intriguing question, how does this guy get insurance approval for all these novel treatments?

Here's a chart of the economic output of major American cities. Portland is so far behind Seattle. And the way it looks, we're never going to get there.

Washington state is going to give out COVID relief funds to illegal migrants, including $1000/month. Oregon is going to try something similar.  How this is legal is beyond me.

Brilliant! We need to have more teachers like this guy. I have so many other things I'd like to put on his list to get people to think for themselves instead of buying into "what others say".
