The scientist that co-invented CRISPR-Cas9. Well, her lab has found a way to selectively kills cells with the p53 mutation. This is huge! Many cancer cells harbor this mutation. This could be a way to eliminate them selectively. This shouldn't affect people with Li-Fraumeni syndrome, where the p53 gene is missing and not mutated. They still have to deal with cancer risk.
